Delivering a new workplace benchmark

GPT’s Sydney Headquarters at Two Park represents a new benchmark in workplace delivery, combining high-calibre design with construction excellence to create a truly experience-led environment. Delivered across two levels within a landmark Premium Grade commercial tower in the Sydney CBD, the project marks GPT’s strategic relocation from the MLC Centre into their own asset at Two Park, demonstrating a commitment to investing in and showcasing the performance of their portfolio.
Engaged under an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) model, Hunter Mason partnered closely with GPT and the consultant team from the outset, providing early input into design management, buildability, programme and sustainability outcomes. This early engagement enabled detailed investigations of the existing tenancy, identifying opportunities for material reuse and embedding sustainability into the construction methodology from day one.
The project transforms an existing office tenancy into a cohesive, two-level workplace that blends hospitality and hotel-inspired aesthetics with the functionality of a high-performing commercial environment. A central interconnecting stair and two large voids form the defining feature of the space, physically and visually linking both levels and creating a unified workplace experience. This integration of front-of-house and back-of-house environments supports movement, collaboration and connection, while maintaining areas for focused work and privacy.
A key construction challenge and feature of the project was the delivery of over 2,000m² of waffle open cell ceiling across both levels. The system was assembled on site from a flat-packed format and required the precise coordination of more than 1,000 services elements, including lighting, sprinklers, sensors and speakers, within tight tolerances. This level of coordination and execution reflects the high standard of delivery achieved throughout the project.
Sustainability was a central driver, with the project achieving 6 Star Green Star Interiors certification and Climate Active carbon neutral status. Through early planning and execution, 93.7% of demolition materials were recycled, 25% of loose furniture was repurposed, and key elements of the existing fitout were retained and reused, demonstrating a practical, construction-led approach to environmental performance.
Completed within a compressed programme from January to July 2025, the GPT Sydney Headquarters stands as a high-quality, technically complex interiors fitout that successfully integrates design ambition with construction precision. The result is a workplace that not only performs at the highest level but one that people are genuinely drawn to, setting a new benchmark for experience-led workplace delivery.
